A potential client messages me on facebook today and starts out with "A friend of mine, said i should get a hold of you because you are an artist. My name is such and such, and i need to have some artwork done for an event i am going to have in two weeks."

me: Ok, i may be able to help you with that. What exactly are you looking for?
PC: not much just some artwork...
me: Ok... Are you looking for just pencils, inks, colour etc?
PC: Well i would like coloured work, and i would need 4 pieces done.
me: ... Ok, that is fine however i need more info than that, so that i can tell you if i am able to do what you would like.
PC: well i dont want to give too much information, because you will raise the price on me. You artists have a way about you, charging more than you should.
me: .... Ok let me make this clear. First off, artists charge what we deserve. Two more than likely not we all have bills to pay like the next we all need to live. I ask you for more information because i need to know, what size of work you need, this allows me to gauge the time i will need to create these four pieces. I need to know what medium you would like to see, what you are trying to convey or show. I need to know all these things to give you a proper price or i cannot guarantee you anything. I don't care about what it is for, i need to know because it could be time and labour intensive.
PC: well that is alot you are asking for, and i don't have alot of money.
me: that is fine, i didnt give you a price.
PC: Listen Kyle, Honestly i need to be reassured you can do the work, can you make me a sample of the poster with about 90 percent completed and we can go from there?
me: No you have access to my portfolio, the samples are there. I dont have time to waste on a sample where you can look at me and say you are not interested. That means i have done work for nothing.
PC: well it seems you have wasted my time, and honestly i do not believe you could handle the level of work i need.
Me: No you wasted my time, if you were serious you would have had all the info at hand and asked me how much time i needed. Good Day and dont contact me again...

SMH...

I posted this on google+ a little while back, and the person just contacted me today and asked for another quote on another illustration job.
